Students of Niger Delta University (NDU), Bayelsa State, have taken to the streets of the university campus to protest a reported increase in school fees.
According to reports, students are protesting an alleged 250% increase in tuition, with fees for some newly admitted students reportedly rising from about ₦110,000 to ₦319,000.
The protest reportedly disrupted academic activities on campus, as students expressed concerns about the impact of the fee increase on students and their families.
In a video circulating online, students can be seen protesting while calling for the university management to reconsider the reported increase.
A student leader was also reported to have called on students to stay away from classrooms until their demands are addressed.
