NIGERIA POLICE TO LAUNCH YOUTH AND DIGITAL RESPONSIBILITY CAMPAIGN

The Nigeria Police Force is preparing to host activities for International Youth Day 2026, with programmes focused on youth engagement, anti-thuggery and responsible use of digital platforms.

The initiative is expected to encourage young Nigerians to become more responsible both offline and online.

The digital responsibility aspect is particularly relevant as social media has become a major part of youth culture.

Young people now use platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and X for entertainment, education, business and communication. However, social media can also expose users to cybercrime, scams, misinformation, bullying and harmful content.

The campaign is therefore expected to encourage young Nigerians to think carefully about what they post, share and believe online.

Beyond policing, youth engagement is important because young people make up a significant part of Nigeria’s population and have an important role to play in shaping the country’s future.
