Pupils Arrive at School by Canoe as Flood Submerges Road in Delta State
A disturbing scene from Delta State has captured attention online after pupils of a primary school were seen arriving at school by canoe.
The pupils reportedly resorted to using canoes to get to school after the road leading to their school was submerged by floodwater.
The situation highlights the difficulties faced by residents in flood-affected communities, where access roads can become completely impassable during periods of heavy flooding.
Despite the challenging conditions, the pupils continued their journey to school, with the canoe becoming an unexpected means of transportation.
The development has also renewed concerns about the condition of rural roads, drainage systems and the safety of children living in flood-prone communities.
Should pupils really have to travel by canoe just to get to school? 😔🛶📚
